What are the ingredients of the sunscreen those with acne-prone skin should avoid?

The first is Oxybenzone.

Oxybenzone is used to chemically reduce the white cast that’s usually in sunscreen, however, synthetic chemicals like oxybenzone actually absorb really well into the skin so it can actually create some internal hormonal issue.

The second ingredient you should avoid is Retinal Palmitate.

Retinal palmitate is a type of vitamin A that is made from a combination of retinol which is pure vitamin A and palmitic acid.

So then what are the sunscreen ingredients we do recommend for acne-prone skin?

The first is Uvinul A +

This is an ingredient with excellent photo stability that helps prevent UV rays induced discoloration of skincare product.

The second ingredient we recommend is Ethylhexyl triazine

It has the ability to protect active oxygen while preventing oxidative damage. So it promotes the synthesis of collagen to improve those wrinkles and also improve elasticity to reduce aging.

Round 3: important things to look out for when choosing a sunscreen for acne-prone skin

The first thing to look out for is ingredients Acne prone skin is likely to be highly sensitive because of the high production of sebum So it can cause inflammation to settle easily.

therefore rather than using a sunscreen with the strong ingredient to reduce oilyness Try to choose a mild sunscreen that has ingredients with high photo stability Such as Uvinul A +, and Ethylhexyl Triazone.

This gives you higher UV protection while also being gentle on the skin.

The second is to use a sunscreen with an adequate amount of SPF

Use a sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB. UVA deteriorates collagen and other substances that maintain elasticity which can cause wrinkles, dark pigmentation, freckles, and even more UVB can cause sunburn and even skin cancer.

The higher the SPF index the stronger it is at protecting your skin against the UV rays and also reducing the number of UV rays that come into contact with your skin.

However if the SPF index is too strong it may contain too many chemicals so an SPF index of 30 to 50 is suitable for acne-prone skin

The third thing to look out for is texture

Make sure that the one that you choose has a soft texture and applies gently on the skin a water-based product has a fresh and hydrating finish without oiliness or white cast So it’s great for before or after makeup.

Round 4: Things to look out for when using a sunscreen

The most important thing to look out for is cleansing.

Because most ingredients in UV protection products protect the skin against the UV rays by creating a barrier on the skin with high oil level in the skin.

It’s really really important to choose a cleaning method with excellent cleansing power after cleansing with a cleansing oil to use the foam cleanser as the second cleanser.

You should also apply sunscreen 15 minutes before you go out. This is because in order to be well-protected sunscreen needs to create an effective shield on the skin which does take some time to form.
